When I'm on the Gold Wing, it's like riding 1/2 an Acura. lol
I swap bikes and it's a completely different sensation on the KLR.
Each time I swap, it's like having a "new:" bike all over again.
Origin of Transalp1@mindspring dot com.:
I bought the 1st 89' Transalp new in 1993 with zero miles. It was around
for two and a half years and 33k miles. I wrecked it and I didn't have the
money to repair it. So, I sold it back to the dealership for a rediculously
low number ($850? ) I waited and a second 89' Transalp showed up about 15
months later with 2400 miles in 1997(!). The young guy got it in 1996 from
a man who had only ridden it 185 miles since it was new. That's less than a
tank of gas!
It still had the original air in the tires! LOL
I changed all the fluids, both OEM tires, fitted a Corbin seat, taller
windshield and put another 30k+ on it before stupidly selling it back to
the same Honda dealer in 2002 ---- for exactly what I'd paid for it. =) The
Honda guy turned it over to his step-grandson and I haven't seen it since.
I did run into the guy a few months ago and he's still riding it.
Me? I wish I'd kept both Transalps. Then again, if I did I probably
wouldn't be having KLR650 fun...

miles. Might be hard to keep pace with the GL

BTW - lots of us take
silly pictures. Only picture I ever regret are the ones not taken. So the
Translap is a goner?
