On the way home from a ride this afternoon, I looked down to see 10,000 miles coming up quickly.
I stopped at 9999.9 and again at 10000.0 miles to take cell phone pictures. lol
I have owned several bikes and ridden many, many more. The KLR is on my favorites list, for sure!

KLR's, shurg, live in a different environment; more like mud-Marines vs the life expectancy of the pay clerk. I like to think of that number as 'turning 10'. as in: "My bike turned '10' yesterday." Like wise I have also enjoyed that singular moment of watching the new-to-me bike turning 3. Later, turning 10, 20, 22, 30, and just before the winter nap, turning 39. I don't consider the KLR fully broken in at 10k miles.
But, it sure was neat to see a 1 followed by all those zeroes. =)
And you are right about the GL1800s. I've worked on several into six
figures, mileage-wise, that are running quite happily.
Heck, I did a valve lash inspection on one nearing 90k and they were all
right down the middle in spec
and had never been adjusted! =)

kind of back on my feet now ,one foot ,so far . I was dreaming about the
Britannia fairings XS twin .There is a picture of Hondo's bike in there with
some cool looking hand guards .Do you all know who makes them ? Sorry Fred ,I
still have my order in mind, but my priorities have kind of changed right now
.
