whats your macgyver items?/toolkit?

#ygrps-yiv-1864802025 p {margin:0;}Haha, It looks like a lot of stuff, but with the exception of the quart of oil and the air compressor, it all fits into a shaving kit bag.  It takes up roughly 1/6th of my hillbilly topcase. -Jeff Khoury

This is a proven strategy for travel in Mexico. Even if nobody has been complaining, you can be sure they will if you try to bring them back..

fork seals. don't blow them....

Post by Jim Tegler » Wed Jul 07, 2010 11:06 pm

Howdy, I had a fork seal start to go last September and didn't notice the oil leak at first but, rather that the bike was developing a nasty tendency to dive to one side during really hard braking. The fork seal eventually blew seriously and the oil was a big splurt on the rad cover. This was the right fork, btw. Anyways, I was OK once I learned to compensate for the strange and awkward lurch to the right during a hard to moderate stop. I still haven't refoined my bike this year, but 1st thing I'm doing is replace the left/right fork seals and the upper and lower bushings. I am a few days behind in my reading but, someone suggested the only special tool needed was a drift to reseat the seals. This isn't true as I understand. An unusual rod with a nut is needed to separate the upper and lower fork halves. Happy riding, Jim A5 _________________________________________________________________ Learn more ways to connect with your buddies now http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9734388

Buying Mexican underwear is like buying Mexican gas?  Or better?  Or worse? I'm not sure that I trust Mexican underwear.  Robert P. Wichert P.Eng +1 916 966 9060 FAX +1 916 966 9068 ========================================================

OMG, I thought I was the only one abandoning worn out cloths across the country. I actually use the same method with my old shirts and sometimes even a pair of pants or sneakers.

That is reserved for venues like the Cromag campout or Skibum's soire. I might consider a underwear head parade at the PineBarrens 300 in NJ this year. It would make a nice show of force by the KLR riders.
