I want to replace the 08 plastic hand guards with some real metal protection. Anybody know which ones fit?????

The Maier Woods Pro will fit but with any universal fit hand guard, they will need to be tweaked just a bit to fit the best.  The Maier Woods Pro ATV model gives your hands and levers more room but the problem is that they also rub the windshield. The Acerbis Rally Pro will fit pretty tight to the levers but should work.  The problem with the 08 is that the windshield is pretty close to your handguards when your handlebars are turned full lock.  If you don't mind the guards bumping the windshield, then either the Maier or the Acerbis will work. You can probably make just about any hand guards fit by rolling the bars back. The problem with so doing is that the tips-down handlebar position is generally better suited for road work. For road work, you don't need lever guards so much. For off-road riding, where you really want to crash-proof your bike, many riders like to roll the bars forward to bring the tips up and facilitate standing. With this handlebar position, you usually have to tolerate your guards bumping the windscreen, or else remove the screen.

Chris, I don't remember which model. They have an aluminum bar running thru them, and the plastic is bonded to the bar. Paid $70 Cdn about 5 or 6 years ago. Ed
