high miles

Post by sopris_2000 » Mon Feb 15, 2010 10:35 pm

Robert has good advice. But. As I did with the 2 KLR's I bought before our trip (my wife and I) to Canada/Alaska/Mexico/Central America for 4 months. I read everything I could about the KLR's and went through both bikes throughly (they were brand new) and upgraded all known issues. I learned alot, made a few mistakes, got lots of advice on this and other KLR websites, divided the information and opinions by 8 sometimes 10 to get an average. Except for major engine failure on the road, I feel like I can fix anything on the bikes now, wherever I am. It may take some days to get parts but I can do it. Also we had 14,000 trouble free miles on our trips.
