Actually, if I could afford it, I would love to have a BMW R75/6 in cherry condition. You can putt around on those old heavy flywheel bemmers, and if you get the urge they will still break 100 mph easily. I think those are good looking bikes. Very raw, basic styling. Sweet. You can look at some beautiful Beemers at that site. The one I would love to have is in Arlington, VA. I am in IL. They want $4,500 for it. Worth every penny by the pictures. There is a R100RT about 120 miles from my home. It is nice, but I'd rather have an older one. Plus I can buy 2 or 3 old UJM's for the price of either one of the Beemers. I will keep saving pennys and keeping an eye out til Spring. Thanks again for the link Jeff Rick A17 ________________________________ From: Jeff Saline To: ramachm12@... Perhaps, but the Beemer will run as long as 3 or 4 of the UJMs. Those bikes are from the days when you actually got something for the premium you paid for a BMW.

Oh I agree. But it is the number of dollars at ones disposal, that really dictates our decisions. Rick A17 ________________________________ From: Jud To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, September 23, 2009 9:04:59 PM Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Re: End of the KLR experience NKLR

Beemers. Then, Jud wrote:'

My '83 Yamaha Seca 900 had 84,000 miles on it when I sold it, nothing ever done to the motor besides checking the valve clearances 2 or 3 times. I bet one of the 650's would go even farther. I really don't think one of the beemers would go over 200,000 miles without engine work. Paul Streeter

C'mon guys, work smarter not harder. Put that breaker bar with the cheater pipe parallel to the swingarm but towards the front of the bike. Have the bike in gear, someone else to hold the brake pedal and use gravity, all of your weight, and a strong downward kicking motion. I've had that method work without anyone using the brake pedal either. Rear wheel spins a little but a couple of kicks and your in business. da Vermonster
