klr spark plugs

NGK Iridium DPR8EiX-9 ANybody have any experience with these just read a few review and one chap says it added half a horsepower to his bike when on a dyno. Possibly a good addition to a jet kit with it being a hotter plug, and the bike will probably be running leaner after rejet?

The jet kit will likely richen the mixture. The bike's on the verge of too lean as it comes from the factory. I'd think a jet kit wouldn't be intended to lean it out more. It's my understanding that Dyno-jet jets are numbered similarly to the stock Keihin parts. But, they flow differently. Example: A #185 DJ jet will run slightly richer than a #185 Keihin. The DPR8EiX-9 should be the same heat range as the ordinary DPR8EA-9 it replaces. But, the tip is made to last longer & gives a good spark, too. Either way, the iridium plug won't hurt and could possibly help. As for adding 1/2 h.p. That depends. How crappy was the chap's plug it replaced? lol eddie

Additional Kudos to Robert Hedrick, who came up with the right answer just now while I was posting my previous response. While I resolved this problem back on June 17th., I do seriously appreciate everyone who took the time to respond in assisting me!!!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but your post suggests you would do well to enlist the aid of an experienced bike mechanic for all your tuning work.
