sargent klr seat?
Wow! Seats. Nobody's hind end is the same. Or, their posture on
sitting on the bike. On my '06 DL1000, I went thru a seat problem that
I never solved. Stock was a killer after about 80 miles running for
me. Bought a Corbin Gunfighter. Great seat. But, could only touch the
ground with my tippy toes , leading to 2 falls at a stop. Once
passenger got off before I was ready and another, depression in the
grass. Too late to slide my hine end over to catch it. On a California
trip,. went by Corbin in Hollister and had the nose cut down and the
seat lowered a little. Felt good sitting on it at the shop. But, Hours
down the road, it reared it's ugly head with not being near as comfy
at the stock Corbin. Oh well, did make it back to Louisiana with it.
Sent my stock seat to Rick Myres with pictures and a letter on what I
was looking for and my problems with the Corbin. Got it and did a few
thousand break in on it. Still not equal to the stock corbin but, I
place it a bit above the modified Corbin. Now, I had 3 seats with
about 1200 bucks in them and none of them doing everything I wanted.
Moral of the story ? You may have to go through a few seats to find
what combination fits YOUR mode and butt. What works for me will more
than likely NOT work for you.
My flattop Corbin on my '02 KLR was just fine for 9 years. The Corbin
on my present '07 Bandit is just peachy king. Could not ask for better
so my hind end tells me with quite a few 150 to 170 mile settings on
it after breaking it in. And , both feet on the ground pretty good.
