Search this forum, klr650.net, and advrider. The relative merits of the old school vs. the new wave have been hashed over ad nauseam. FWIW, I like my '98. If I ever thought I needed a fresher KLR, I would look for '07 or earlier, unless a great deal on a newer one came up.>

If you ride mostly highway, the new fairing makes for a much more
comfortable ride. If you ride much offroad and think you'll dump it,
that same fairing is pretty vulnerable.
