The problem that I have with

I've had some pretty good crashes with the lights on (one big enough to
bend the bars), and they remain unscathed. The lights are mounted
inboard of the hash marks on the wind deflectors, and that seems to be
enough. I once went down in deep sand, and the light pivoted back on
its mount. On the other hand, a hard object like a tree might be a
little less gentle. We have a few trees around here, but I usually ride
around them.

I'm sure there are plenty of crash situations that would damage them,
but you could say that about nearly any other part of the bike, too.

On my Tengai, I mounted L-brackets to the lower triple clamp and
then mounted the lights to the L-Brackets.

Hi Carlos, I've used Nutserts for years on electrical panels, they're simple to install, cheap and plently strong for what you need. I assume that you are are in the US so I included below a link to a kit from Harbour Freight, here in Canada the cheapest place I've seen the kits was at Princess Auto. You can buy the nutserts themselves when you need replacements from the above mentioned or at most major fastener retails.
Basically they are installed the same as a rivit but rather then leaving a rivit behind fastening two pieces of metal fastened together the piece left behing is threaded to accept a bolt...hope this helps and have a great day......Greg
