tengai paint codes

I have a pair of lights on the way and I'm weighing my options for mounting. I saw a picture of a pair of lights mounted just below the headlight. The ones on the way are real small, something like 2in tall and 3 1/2in wide. I've measured and they should fit under the headlight. Seriously, not one idea? With as bad as the headlight is on the KLR I thought most guys had some extra lights. And by the way I already rewired the headlamp with relays. It did help but there's no light to the sides. Chris R Cedaredge Co

My thoughts on that (not due for new headlights yet, I'm in Colorado and it's not dark enough for me not to see) is to yank the stocker, trim the plastic to fit a flood and a spot in there, then re-shape the fairing to fit nicely for looks. Ideally a couple of HIDs, a projector or two. The hayabusa had pretty decent lights on it, so something similar to that. //Reverend - Denver

Have not done it myself but have seen numerous reports/webpages, etc. I may have some links on my home machine and will look. You might also try asking on advrider.com in the Thumpers forum. Lotsa KLR stuff there. Stephen

I have a '90 Tengai B2 and have bought a second-hand top box for it. Fitted easily, is very functional...... but it was painted bright red to match the '80 GS1000 it was previously fitted to. I don't want to go overboard with the paint matching routine but it would be a big help if someone could provide the code for the blue paint used on those models. Have searched the 'net but it appears Kawasaki were not big on giving out the PPG codes. Any ideas ?? It the meantime I guess I will just be standing out like the proverbial....
