I've seen a few KLRs with a tool tube mounted on the left side where a second muffler WOULD be, if we had 2. Looks good, and out-of-the-way. Ed

Agreed. That's where I ended up putting mine. Again, though, I was surprised how little room was left once I collapsed the rear suspension to see how much room I really had. But the 4 in. pipe sure is handy there, even though it's not as long as I'd originally planned. The only reason I don't mount it there is b/c it sits too high, adding to the "moment" effect on the bike. When mounted low, you don't notice the weight. John

Anyone install these tubes coming directly out the front/back and paint them to look like 50caliber machine gun barrels, or better year like little rocket launcher, that would make your KLR stand out.............

Ran across Hotfoot's KLR website, I really like the placement of his tool tube, but honestly have not tried it out on mine just yet. This guy has spent more time putting things on the bike than riding it, should be in the KLR musuem, if there is one! If I recall there is something like 300 miles on it!

Bike been lowered ? If so did whoever lower the bike shorten the kickstand ? Stock links on rear and lowered the front by sliding he tubes down about 3/4", my bike never as leaned to the right. Spring would have to be really weak for that much sag. Stock size wheels ? When my tires were just about, well ok when they were bald the bike did sit upright a bit more but not enough to tip, keep the bars to the left I reckon till its figured out. Dooden A15 Green Ape
