side stand safety disable procedure

Post by phibene » Sun May 18, 2008 7:23 pm

NOTE posted from P Benefield's terminal, as I am some 3Kmiles from my own achieves.... Need help on the sidestand safety mod: Norm Chandler suggested there are two wires that you can jumper out to disable both the clutch and sidestand switchwithout actually removing any of the hardware. Anyone know which one this is? If we do take all the safety hardware off the sidestand, do we just cut the wire and tape them together? What we do know is that just removing the two wire plug from the sidestand circuitry is not enough.... It has been 4 years since I did my own, and don't remember where the yellow brick road to removing the sidestand circuitry is hiding. Please reply to the list. revmaaatin.

side stand safety disable procedure

Hi Rev, When I removed my sidestand switch on my A19, I made a jumper to connect the terminals in the connector that was plugged into the switch. So, yes, the wires need to be connected together. You can check me by doing a continuity check through the sidestand switch. HTH, Mike Martin, Louisville, KY --- phibene wrote:

side stand safety disable procedure

Good timing! Just this weekend I did the clutch & sidestand safety bypasses. I used the 'marknet' link below & all was good and easy. Follow these procedures, look at the pictures closely... twice before cutting wires and you're good to go! John To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com From: else22@... 420 progressive spring

Post by Fred Hink » Fri May 30, 2008 10:53 pm

The PS 420 shock for the KLR comes with the 500/560 spring. I sometimes substitute the 350/450 spring for lighter riders by special request but you can't buy it that way from Progressive. Fred http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com http://s1.zetaboards.com/arrowhead

Is it a 350-450 or the heavier 500-560. According to various dealers there is only 1 spring available but they don't know the compression rating. No response received from Progressive Suspension.
