soft luggage and racks
Call me cheap but I made a rack that mounts directly over the rear
luggage rack. Three 1" by 1/4" by 48" flat steel bars is all that is
needed. ON the left side measure up 17" make a 90 degree angle, measure
over 13" and make an angle that puts the bar over the muffler and the
third angle will be straight down. You can tie the two together with
pieces made from the third piece of steel. I ran a brace directly under
the rear fender tying both sides together. The rack bolts directly over
the rear luggage rack using longer bolts. Cost, under $10.
I have a set of Nashbar rear panniers that I use, the color matches my
05 perfectly.
