If you have the radiator guards already, would the heavy duty tank guards from www.klr650.com be overkill?

tank protection

The KLR650's tank plastic panels & fuel tank are extremely vulnerable & expensive. Protecting the cooling system is an admission to the fack of being structually weak. I replaced mine with the IMS military tank to have a much tougher system & to protect the cooling system. Having tested this several times off road, I can vouch that the IMS tank is extremely durable (but not pretty). If you decide to keep the OEM tank & panels, some sort of VERY heavy- duty tank guard is needed if you go off road. When a top heavy KLR goes down, it can smack very hard on the tank panels and/or tank corners. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "coo68ley" wrote:

clutch cable? motion pro vs. stock

I got my cable a while back and had to "massage" it to get the proper angle at the lever end too. No big deal as I've accepted that a "bolt-on" usually isn't, regardless of the application. Besides, I always enjoy a chance to use my favorite tool...a hammer. I was completely amazed at what a diffeence that cable made in the clutch pull. Wow. Lamar A14
