Most charities are rip-offs, yes. Not PhD politicians, PhD's in general. The sort with degrees that require big government to generate nonsensical programs to issue grant monies so they can make a living. A rather huge proportion of them suck off government programs. This is where the 'liberals' do their stealing. They create programs under the guise of helping people, to line their own pockets with the resulting grant money. I work for a welfare system and see this waste daily. People who should not have jobs heading programs that shouldn't exist for those who won't work. Most people who receive subsidies in the US are unwilling to work, yes. I see them daily while I'm at work. It is a skill within this subculture to learn how to max out the benefit money and stay on the teat of the system. The whole system is corrupt. It should make it as uncomfortable as possible to receive benefits, rather than make it simpler as we do now. People want free housing, fine, put them in literal cement bunker conditions with little more than the bare protection from weather and the bare essentials for hygiene. Don't put them up in nice condos or simply hand out a check to be spent on whatever they chose. People want food, fine, give them peanut butter, bread and oatmeal...all they can eat. Don't coddle them so it's possible to go multiple generations on the system as it is now. It should be as uncomfortable and undignified as possible to be living for free, it would cut down massively on the whole burden. Don't even get me started on mandatory sterilization either...NOBODY should be able to have even a single child if they can't pay for it all themselves. Instead we have entire family trees paid for by us working slobs. We're breeding our own downfall, though it will take a century or so for the real mess to unfold. The 'free money' comes from those who work, at the current rate we are breeding those who won't faster than those who will. It's simple math, eventually there will be more people taking than contributing. As for un-American. This shambles we have now is a mere shadow of the free republic as it was originally intended. This was not ever meant to be a socialist dream society. Capitalism ain't pretty, but it's why we're here, people forget that all too often.> Holy shit! -- they rip us dorks off equally so .... Please dont forget to mention that this "big
Government" has built and maintained the greatest
nation on earth to date. Has provided help across the
globe, has provided for it's own people the most
comfortable living ever, feeds the poor etc. I realize
this is all secondary to those nasty wealthy people,
but should be mentioned... Most of the people
complaining about corporate "greed" simply dont own,
or have stake in corporations. Our economy is AMerica.
Our economy is to be protected just as our people are,
it is how we built this great nation. Nothing evil
about that, just reality. Take away the economy, and
you leave us open to attack. Are there nations out
there who would like to attack us? Um yeah.

nklr wake-up call on riding safely!
Funny how the topic of riding safeley can turn into,
 wellelection year banter I guess.
While I too am a staunch conservative, with liberal
tendancies, when they fit, and I am dead against
paying people who can work to not work, though I
personally did ride the unemployment pony for a full
year after 32 years on the job (sorry man, I wanted
the break. I did wood working in my garage with the
dogs and the kids, so put me in prison if you must.)
But, at the same time, there any many many Americans
who are hurt or disabled, or are raising children who
are hurt or disabled, and so on, who need help. How
cool is it that we live in a Nation so wealthy, that
these people can find help when it is needed. Let us
always be there for those in NEED, here and across the
globe. We can afford it, but we must cull the herd of
the money sucking lazy good for nothing parasite
lookin worthless shifty four flushin nasty booger
eatin drug lovin boozin' "why the hell should I have
to work to survie" sayin, scum suckin people who just
dont want to work. You know what, I don't want to
work. I want to ride, make love, tie one on, take one
off, and fish like theres no tommorow, but my wife is
calling me, I have to go kill a spider before I go to
 work.
 Spock out....
A-18. The color of blood on asphalt, so ride safe, as
is the reason for this thread.

nklr wake-up call on riding safely!
Russ -- Just a few things I've learned while teaching a course in American Families at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

 1. The average welfare recipiant stays on the program for just less than 6 months. It's a forced reaction to one of many life's delemna's

 2. The average welfare recipiant is forced on subsidies because of a drastic change in a life circumstance -- notably divorce, death in the family, loss of job and major illness. Many recieve foodstamps but also work full time - but in near minimum wage jobs.

 3. Given these circumstances the average welfare recipiant is you, your wife, you're sister, your mother etc. Most middle class Americans are only a few paychecks away from poverty.

 4. When you assign a recipiant to a "concrete bunker" you are putting their children in one as well. What fault is it of thier's that they popped out of the womb of someone who had to rely on welfare to feed them at one point in their lives.

 5. Long termed welfare recipiants ( more than 6 months) aren't dependent upon it because of something they did or didn't do in most cases. Explain this: The majority of children who come from middle class home will not be long-termed welfare recipiants while the majority of females from families living below the poverty are much more likely to be.

 6. The real welfare recipiant is you. It's obvious from reading this post your not only not doing your job in the system that employs you -- i.e. pays your mortage, feeds your family, pays for your motorcycle maintenence, but you don't even know who the people are you're being paid to help. Your comments are that of a fraud and a coward for getting paid to help people you feel nothing but contempt for. It is people like you who are the kings of our welfare system and more important, the reason it stays entrenched in a blaming the victim mentality. It is you who our hard earned private sector dollars is being wasted on.

 7. People living in Boston who are on welfare don't go to Tanzania to spend what money they're provided it with. They use it to buy milk, bread, cheese and donuts from a local grocery. They pay rent to a local landlord and they either ride public transportation or buy gasoline form someone in the neighborhood. So who's benefitting most from the "system"? Which brings me to the next important point:

Russ - If you have a moral and ethical bone in your body you should either quit your job or work to change whatever it is about the system that is not helping put people attain unsubisdized jobs that can provide for a families basic needs. If that's not your goals then you should quite taking our welfare dollars.
