automatic traffic light changes
They told us in my MSF class to make sure you drive your tires as close to
the lines that are cut it the road as possible. I do this and it seems to
work.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and
degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is
worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing
to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a
miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so
by the exertions of better men than himself."

I know you are all familiar with those traffic light changers that sense the
presence of a vehicle. Is it my imagination or does a motorcycle NOT set
these things off? Are they weight or magnetic operated? It seems that the
light won't change when I stop alone at my local lights. Maybe it is just my
imagination and impatience. The light always eventually changes, but that
seems to be because a car always eventually comes along.

I have the Green light trigger on two of my bikes and I cannot tell
if they work or not,I still get stuck at some stoplights. The
literature
says to drive slowly over one side or the other of the loop coil in
the road and I always try to do that, but it does'nt seem to make any
difference.I usually just treat the stop light like a stop sign and
go when the traffic is clear, and have'nt been arrested yet.

automatic traffic light changes
After l call from my knew place of employment the bothersome light
worked that very same day and has since.
Got pulled over once in Wichita Ks after 3 cycles of the light about
2:30 am. I could even see the officer parked by the bank. Turn
signals and all. He let me go after "You ran a red light!
Yes sir, I waited three cycles and saw you the whole time."
Course he wanted to smell if beer was on my breath. Wich wasn't.Still
freaking pissed me off he pulled me over!
The one time I went down and in the recent year was doing the right
turn cuz a light wouldn't turn. I hit untraveled section of the road
and gravel making this wide and illegal right turn accross several
lanes and hit the road hard at about 30mph. Thanks to the real bike
suit no harm done.
I'm now more of less the attitude "fu__ em" no traffic I'm going. I
do pay road taxes and will fight any freaking ticket I get.
Putting the kickstand down on one of the cuttings in the road works
well.
Breaking the cutting in the road several times with your front wheel
while coming to a stop works sometimes.
Some light use your high beams to trip them at night (wichita Ks).
Good luck.
A trick that has been recommended by the

Oh and sorry , forgot to mention the most frustrating thing of the
damned lights are that if roundaabouts (I rode in England and
Germany) were used instead of the lights there;d be no problem.
Course then you have to limit driving licenses to about 40 percent of
the population as the other remaing percentage would be incapable of
actually having the driving capacity or resposibility to negotiate
roundabouts.
Fact. W/o posted referances. NO LAW REQUIRING TURN SIGNALS IN DUVAL
COUNTY Fla. AS PER THE SHERIFFS OFFICE. (904) 630-0500.

I don't know about other states, but in Nevada the DOT has switched to using motion sensors for triggering the lights because they solve the motorcycle problem. And, get right up over the loop closest to the intersection, even if you have to cross the line. With some of these systems they can tune the sensitivity of the individual loops, so to try and help motorcycles they will tune this loop to be very sensitive. It was interesting. Out in the Carson Valley even the big bikes had trouble triggering the lights. Within a year of the sheriffs department getting an HD suddenly even my KLR was regularly tripping all the lights, so there could be something to it. Nevada DOT is starting to push the use of roundabouts as a traffic 'calming' device for busy intersections. They have put a couple in Carson City on the backroads the locals use to bypass traffic on the US50/US395 corridor. I like them, they are real neat on a bike. All you got to do is time your entry to flow with traffic and you get to zoom you turn, neat when you get to do a 270 left hand turn. My motorcycle does not set these things off. I have to turn right, then
left, to go straight...
