First off ... I'm not a nube, just a new ID. Wait, since I don't post 500 times a day, I guess I am. I ride an '00' KLR650. GREAT bike. I ride an '00' Triumph Sprint RS ... another GREAT bike. I ride an '01' Harley Superglide Sport ... see above comments. Many, but not enough, bikes over the years. I have been riding for 40 fucking years, and I don't give a fuck what ANYBODY rides ... AS LONG AS THEY RIDE! I wave at EVERY bike that passes, because when I started riding, that's what my dad taught me. If I see a rider along side the road, I stop ... because that's what my dad taught me. My dad had his first bike waaaayy back in 1926. He had over 50 bikes in his lifetime and I'm almost halfway there. He raced flat track. He was a motorcycle instructer in the U.S. Army stationed at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. HE WAS ME HERO. Too many new bikers (R.U.B.) have this "My bike is better than yours" attitude. Too many Brit bikers have the same attitude. Too many "Adventure Riders" have the same attitude. Lose the fucking attitude, people. We ALL have one thing in common. WE ALL LOVE BIKES and WE ALL LOVE TO RIDE. Don Detloff Fair Haven, MI>>>

This is a post that I sent to the "Adventure Riders" forum in
response to a negative comment about Harley riders. As I ask in the
following post, DON'T WE ALL SOMETHING IN COMMON?

 BTW - Pardon the language.

Well said, and your right. However, Harley's still
suck, but ride the damn thing anyway, and I will wave
too unless of course at that moment I am hanging on
 for dear life.....

As far as I'm concerned, people can make their own selves happy
riding what they want to ride. If they want to dress alike, so what?
Lot of groups dress alike, like dirt riders for example. Ride on by
and enjoy the day. Riding is better than driving, and the more
motorcycles on the road the better. My only complaint about a lot of
Harley riders, and the riders of many other types of bikes, is noise.
I don't like to be blasted by someone else's testosterone-fueled
fantasy, and I don't think it does the motorcycling community as a
whole any good to annoy the rest of the world. Besides, as Stu found
out, you can sneek up on some pretty cool wildlife with a quiet pipe.

"Harley Davidson. It's not a motorcycle company. It is a pagan cult
religion for brain dead trend humping fashion lemmings."

How wonder how the author really feels. He does make some good points.

The Advrider forum is full of RUB's and rich Yahoo's that think everyone
should buy a $12000 bike and then trash it to prove how cool they are...
  Dumb Asses.

It is also balanced with caring, compassionate, die-hard riders that go out
of their way to support other riders... just like this forum.

  Thanks,

The (RUB) Rich Urban Assholes are not into shitting on those who are not of
means, so get real. Most are not eligible for that extreme label, and the
others that are close to not being so can be reminded by simply not being a
passive non-defensive introverted non-communicating human. I have not met
ONE rider, over that past 30+ years, that was not, even deep down, a
 workable person!

I ride an old 2002 KLR650, but I could put a KTM950 under my feet, and
upgrade my Lexus, etc, within 24 hours. Why do I not? Earnings dilution
and transfer to depreciating assets. Like most, I enjoy productive
investments. SO, My paid off KLR and paid off SC400 stay until they shit the
guts out of there motors/trannys, etc.. {knock on wood not}.

I am a Productive Earning Taxpipe (PET) for the general use of our
near-socialist government, and I ride my A16 KLR650 hard and with pride.
Advrider.com guys are seriously AOK by me and everyone else I ride with. For
what it is worth - Watch the owner of a KTM950 when he downs it. No money BS
 - he is pissed because, like the rest of us, he is concerned less about his
ride than being caught on camera!

Oh, and would someone send me a picture of the pipe that came out the 'back
pocket' of the dentists bare friend? (NOT REALLY --- grin....)

Ride well, and focus on the ZEN of the ride. $$$ are, and never has, been
 the core issue.
