klr touring essentials

Anybody know where I can find a list of essential items to bring when touring on the KLR? I know I have seen a few such lists on one of the dual sport or KLR websites, but can't locate it. Or if you anyone has their own list, that would be cool too. I'm heading to Mexico and would like advice on what rain gear, tools, supplies, etc. to take along. Thanks.

Nope and wish to never report it. Only welding I did was to add the large steel washers on the toe side like Dual-Stal sells, then shaped with grinder, and whatever black paint is handy. Of course this is from a guy that has a spare in his tailpack he leaves on the bike with a small crest wrench. But the welds did look fine to me, bit too hot maybe since there was some under cut (melted) steel along the lever and the hub, but its a easy fix with a grinder and a welder which I have access too should one make that ultimate surrender of crash related stress. Dooden A15 Green Ape It still makes me laugh when people just look at the KLR and really do not want to call it a motorcycle, since they have this image of a HD burned into there mind, but still ask about it, normally end it with "ya this motorcycle it fun to ride, pavement is boring".
