I have a friend with an A-16, he has oil all over his swingarm. He
says that he had it to the dealer many times but was unable to solve
the problem. He also says that there doesn't seem to be any oil
missing when he checks the level. It has to be coming from there
that is is the only place it could be.

Please post if anyonw else has the same problem

 Thanx

Could be either oil from the chain or oil from the motor. My a9 with the scottoiler gets kind of messy. Does the bike have a automatic chain oiler? Probably irrelevant, but then again the oily swingarm might be related to the chain slack being too tight, and a leaky countershaft sprocket. need more information Thanks, Conall> the problem. oil on the swingarm
My old KZ used to blow oil all over now and then. Level was always ok
when checked right after. Of course it should have been ok then because
it just blew the excess oil from being overfilled and adjusted the
 level down all by itself.
If the KLR doesn't do this trick, would somebody who knows the facts
 pass them on?

oil on the swingarm
There is a breather line which runs up to the left side front of
the air cleaner housing, check to make sure its attached on both
ends, if the bike is topped off with oil the likely place for oil to
 exit is right there.. Richy
