Dooden, Thanks for your input. When the bike isn't running the level is in between the two lines in the viewing glass. When the bike is running the oil disappears from the glass. The way I read the owners manual this should be happening. This is right isn't it? Thanks, Rob Yellowknife, NT

Rob, You are describing the correct oil level. However, you can run significantly more oil than that without blowing seals or blowing oil into the airbox, and it will quiet down the chain noise a bit. Get the bike level, and add oil until you reach the top mark on the sight glass. Then, add another 300cc of oil. See if the balancer chain is a bit quieter. It really does sound like you are describing the normal racket that the balancer assembly makes. I usually add a bit of oil when it gets noisy, this seems to correspond to the middle of the sight glass. This is a result from testing ? or is that what you got from the bolt head/KHI specs ? Is not a 12.9 metric like near the top of the food chain in bolt grading ? Just curious since you appear to have gone through alot of trouble to check something, that you replace anyway. Dooden A15 Green Ape
