engine bars and cornering

Do engine bars such as Happy Trails etc. interfere with hard cornering in the twisties? Clay

Sometimes they work. When they don't, they make changing the tube very messy. I got a piece of 1/8" steel rod in my rear tire once, the tube tore and slime didn't help. I stopped using slime, then I got a finishing nail in the rear tire and had to toss a HD tube. Slime would have worked perfectly. I started using it again.
