In case it's hard to find the Utah Ride information, here it is. October 18-24, 2003 Utah Breakout Ever had the taste of red rock dust in Canyonlands Country? How about a full gulp's worth!!! Six full and wonderfully tiring days of remote riding in some of the most spectacularly diverse terrain in the west are waiting! Starting in the high desert of Moab, heart of the Colorado Plateau, we'll descend sandstone canyons, climb to altitude through thick Aspen forests, study the wonder of Newspaper Rock, The Goosnecks Overlook, traverse WaterPocket Fold by way of the Burr Trail and follow the tracks of the Mormons at Hole in the Rock crossing, as well as a stop at the incredible Goblin Valley. And ride most of this in the dirt! I've explored Southeastern Utah for over 25 years and have become very passionate and protective of this delicately beautiful country. The route I've chosen has some very remote aspects to it, but mostly you should consider this a recreational dual-sport event. In many cases, we can individually tailor the ride with alternate ride-arounds to accommodate all skill/challenge levels. This Chain Gang Event is limited to 10 riders. I especially want to encourage other women riders to join in experiencing these enchanting landscapes. Off-pavement riding experience is essential. For complete details, contacts are given below. Huh huh....this is the KLR list....where we get really nervous about forking over $10 for a campground, in the event we can't find a free one near a creek so we have some water for bathing.....

Holy Cow! eight days in Moab and Escalante didn't cost me that much, including gas to and from Minnesota.

Not kidding.. I thought $13 or whatever it was, was too much at Enduraid considering they more or less shoved what maybe 40 camp sites into a spot designed for maybe 15 sites. I do remember waking to the sound of that Moto-Guzi rider snoring pretty damn loud in his tent about 5 feet from mine. Got him back after I had that small fight with my Coleman stove in which I finally gave in and waited close to an hour to make a pot of coffee with it, but the stove an I made up afterwards and all was fine. I missed a small detail setting it up, the pump was stuck shut, after using excess twisting effort it became unseated. The freebie/$10 a weekend remote sites are always better to stay at, unless you need toilets, drinking water ect ect... Dooden A15 Green Ape

I thought that was a litle rich, too, but not as bad as the campground in Duluth that wanted $18 per tent for the World Cup trials last year. I camped with a couple of guys who, when they heard the price, went to Wally World and got a tent with 3 rooms, separate domes with connecting tunnels, like a sci-fi lunar colony or something. They paid about a hundred bucks for this monstrosity, used it for the weekend, then on Sunday, packed it up, returned it, and got their money back.

I think the BMW ride includes BMW mocha latte frappuccino and BMW designer q-tips to clean your BMW rims with BMW approved bottled water for washing fluid. Atleast it should for that price. I dig the super tent idea, kinda like "Space 1999", Moonbase Alpha here we come! CA Stu

Heck even the UP OffRoad 100 has $25 per weekend camping, and thats within a minute stroll from the racetrack. http://www.upoffroad100.com This years races should be on ESPN by now. This thing started when I was a kid, and was basically a mud hole type track and locals just having fun with trucks and ATV's, now its a 2 race weekend event in July and Aug.
