Hey, got a question.
Had to take the clutch switch apart working on the bars today and
after putting it back together, it was intermittent (wouldn't let
starter run unless held just-so). I ended up wiping most of the
electric grease off the sliding bits while handling it to bolt it
back together. Could this be leading to the problem? I'd hate for
this switch to flake out on me a long way from home. Aren't there
instructions on bypassing the whole damn system?

clutch switch trouble
Simple bypass behind the Tach/Speedo.

If you can find them, the spade connectors that fit are .187" not the
standard .250" size.
I have a few here, I made a simple bypass and backed the terminals
outta the connector like Mark did and just looped the bypass back on
to the cable.

clutch switch trouble
The switch is adjustable - left and right - it is best using a meter to
adjust correctly. (Good to know in the field)
