air box and pilot screw

What would cause my speedometer to suddenly stop working, but periodically function for a few moments? It's dead as a hammer, but every once in a while will work for a 1/10 of a mile or so. Cable looks good and is lubed. Plenty of grease in the hub. Lamar A14

It's shot. Just wait until it slams the needle around so hard that it snaps off...

air box and pilot screw

if i open up air box any (drill couple holes), is it best to open pilot screw more than the two turn i have it now ? run it a bit richer due to more air in the box ?
