What would cause my speedometer to suddenly stop working, but periodically function for a few moments? It's dead as a hammer, but every once in a while will work for a 1/10 of a mile or so. Cable looks good and is lubed. Plenty of grease in the hub.

air box and pilot screw
if i open up air box any (drill couple holes), is it best to open
pilot screw more than the two turn i have it now ?
run it a bit richer due to more air in the box ?
