This group sure is filled with alot of crying, snivelers with funny aristocratic names. Are you sure you guys ride bikes? If you want to stop this..., and eliminate that..., and your anti this..., and pro that..., why don't you become politicians. The whole idea of riding bikes is FUN!!! And guess what...everyones definition of fun is different. Live and let live, and if you don't like it, get the F@#k out of my Country...fascist pigs.

Very good... odd you choose not to sign your post. Tell you what we'll do, you can live in *your* country, but you won't survive on MY list very long if you continue with your blathering. Consider yourself warned. Gino List Admin

It's odd really, the folks "living" with drag pipes aren't letting me live much when I can't talk to the person next to me when they drive by. Or sleep when they roar down the street at 3:00 in the morning. I'm a fascist because I like to hear myself think? Come trail riding with me (including 100mi of highway each way to get there) and we'll who'll does the sniveling. Devon A15 monahanwb@... wrote:

I thought the whole idea of "your" country was that people have the right to hold and express different opinions, yet your post indicates intolerance for that right. So who's the facist? Arden Kysely (from good farmer stock, not aristocracy) A11 "Mr. K"

Well, I'd have to admit that, until recently, I actually agreed with one tiny little part of your post, you know, this part:
> ...Live and let live...
But, then I had this mini noise epiphany. We're having a minor water shortage this summer and they banned outdoor sprinkers. I was lying back one day, listening to the birds chirp, the wind blowing through the trees, and realised "Hey, there's no lawn mowers... this is great!" It was so peaceful; almost like camping :) Then some Harley rider barked past, followed by some howling crotch rocket, then the guy next door spun up a skill saw,... And then I thought about all those times I did this, or that, and then thought about how many people gritted their teeth as I was doing my thing, living my life, the times I drowned out the birds or the wind. Noise is like polution, no... noise IS polution, the more we spew out, the more we have to live with. And really, it's not good for us. The good news is that, unlike nuclear waste with a 20,000 year half life, noise polution goes away just as soon as we shut up. Dave... Hi Dave,(if that is in fact your real name) good point about the noise pollution all around us,this is where some of us dual sporters hurt ourselves.I, like most others who installed an aftermarket internal disc exhaust, set it up in the driveway with all the "white noise" of the subdivision, lawn mowers, trucks driving by planes overhead etc.I didn't want it loud, didn't think it was "loud" just more thumper like. What happens when you're 30 miles back in the bush? I really felt self-conscious meeting hikers or fishermen knowing that what was acceptable in town easily becomes a "look at me " exhaust in these surroundings.I have returned to the stock exhaust, yes it wheezes a bit but not as much as I would if I had to climb a hill.......cosmo -- In DSN_klr650@y..., fixerdave@h... wrote:

everyone is saying that horsepower doesn't increase much despite intake/jetting/exhaust mods. does that apply to torque as well? it would seem valvetrain, etc, mods to increase top end would have more effect on horsepower. my klr is stock, but i know just playing with intake/jetting/exhaust on my xr400 has made it quite a bit more peppy, with "seat of the pants" measurement. also know that the amount of throttle application which used to just lift the front wheel in first gear now does it even better in second, and about throws me off the back in first gear. haven't tested my mpg decrease yet. ymmv i guess... _pete _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
