Hi Everyone
Back in England, when I was much younger, a group of us to ride around on on DT 125 and 250, about every six months or so we use to dismantle our bikes and toy around, adjusting this that and the other and giving them a good clean. Now I admit these were 2 strokes, so burnt alot more oil, which use to build up in the exhaust. To remedy this we use to buy "Caustic Soda", remove the exhaust, plug one end up. mix the soda with hot water, and pour into the exhaust. leave for 30 minutes, allowing for the "CS" to burn and loosen the carbon build up.Then drain and flush through. It was amazing how much crude and crap would come out of the exhaust.
My KLR has'nt been visited by tweety as yet, so I have had no need to try and see if it is the actual build up of carbon that cause's this highly annoying sound.
Has anyone tried this, or something similar?

Which has the Predator, the DT or KLR? Either way, how rebuildable is the Predator? A wound-up roll of chickenwire stuffed down with a broomstick can do sufficient restriction to pass some tests if the muffler is not an easily disassembled type. Just leave enough chickenwire so you can pull it out again.
