oh no, not again! dead klr sketch (revisited)
Hey Adam, did you figure-out the problem? I reread your question and
my/others response and wanted to retract my advice. You received much
wiser consul from others who suggested you return the bike to whoever
did the top end repairs, or at least figure-out whether you had engine
lock-up. I don't know what I was thinking when I assumed you lugged the
engine till it quit, what an insult! : ^ 0 I must have been in
the delusional mode of my 12 hour graveyard shift.
If you don't have engine lock-up, then maybe my advice is valid. I
wouldn't want any damage to be caused by repeated attempts to start-it.
Good luck.

Adam, I would check the water level of your battery, the terminal
connections and the charge. From your description, it may be that you
lugged-it up the hill in 4th and killed-it and then there wasn't enough
juice going to the starter to turn-it over. I havn't had the pleasure
of bump starting mine yet, but I've heard others say its not easy. I
liked somebody's idea of slamming your butt down on the rear of the seat
at the moment of clutch release (to get it started ; - )
BTW, when it comes to fuses, don't rely on visual inspection alone, if
other factors have been eliminated, change the fuse(s) and see what
happens. But since the solenoid clicked, it sounds like possibly a
(small) amount of juice was getting there and the fuse is good.

I just put a whopping 88 miles on my A7 after getting it back from a
shop for some shall we say "top end repairs." While going up hill in
4th gear, the engine died and the back wheel locked up. I pulled in the
clutch and made it to the shoulder and assessed the situation. The
starter (relay) just clicked away, so I decided to bump start it down
hill in the bike lane. The first try at ended in a skid. The second
ended when the local PD saw me going down hill the wrong way in the bike
lane. The third was also unsuccessful. The headlight dims more than
normal with the starter engaged and all of the fuses are fine. Any
ideas? Thanks.

nklr to the bone
The National Transportation Safety Board recently divulged they had
covertly funded a project with the US auto makers for the past five
years,
whereby
the auto makers were installing black boxes in four-wheel drive
pickup
trucks in an effort to determine, in fatal accidents, the
circumstances in
the last 15 seconds before the crash. They were surprised to find in
45 of
the 50 states the last words of drivers in 61.2 percent of fatal
crashes
were,"Oh, Shit!"
Only the states of West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee were different,
where over
89.3
percent of the final words were: "Hold my beer and watch this."
