Oddly enough, my emails don't seem to be posting to the entire list, merely
to you... very strange.
At any rate, I did not say that there would be no vendors. I said,
and I quote:

vendors are not going to be a focal point of this rally, like so many
others... This rally is more about gathering, riding, and bench racing over
dinner. Not buying cheap gear for your bike. At least that's the impression

The bright idea of gathering together with friends made over the course of a
year or two of posting? Um, I believe that was Gino's idea.
The bright idea of not going mass market (particularly in light of what
happened to the Porterville Rally), again, I believe that lies with Gino.
You are more than welcome to hold your own rally, and convince vendors that
it's worth their while to come out with, perhaps, monetary guarantees on
your part, and then invite us all. Maybe we'll show up...

Really? You think me being able to buy chotchkes for my bike would make me
show up when my friends couldn't talk me into taking the vacation time? I
can buy stuff online. I can buy stuff at the motorcycle show. I can buy
stuff at the races. I only get the opportunity to get sand riding tips from
the likes of Kurt Grife, a riding companion of Clement Salvatori (you may be
familiar with his writing...) at small gatherings such as this list
provides.

that I am looking forward to being.
