You ain't seen the half of it. What's your take on the environment?> I have to admit that I am a little shocked at how hostile this list is.
If your remarks may be taken as rude, then they are not truth. Factual information is rarely, if ever, perjorative. http://www.m-w.com to look up words that you don't recognize.> While I suppose some of my remarks may be taken as rude, they are > truth and I > never insulted anyone by name calling.
Oddly enough, my emails don't seem to be posting to the entire list, merely to you... very strange. At any rate, I did not say that there would be no vendors. I said, and I quote: I believe (not sure because I'm not Gino, and I've never been to Moab) that vendors are not going to be a focal point of this rally, like so many others... This rally is more about gathering, riding, and bench racing over dinner. Not buying cheap gear for your bike. At least that's the impression I've gotten... end quote.> Based on Sarah's comments, am I to believe that this rally in > Moab will have > no vendors?
The bright idea of gathering together with friends made over the course of a year or two of posting? Um, I believe that was Gino's idea. The bright idea of not going mass market (particularly in light of what happened to the Porterville Rally), again, I believe that lies with Gino. You are more than welcome to hold your own rally, and convince vendors that it's worth their while to come out with, perhaps, monetary guarantees on your part, and then invite us all. Maybe we'll show up...> Whose bright idea was that?
um. large unpaid bills don't count as connections.> I have connections with > some large > vendors
Hey Fred, can you conference us in? This should be amusing...> and I plan on talking with the owner of Arrowhead Motorsports > tomorrow.
Really? You think me being able to buy chotchkes for my bike would make me show up when my friends couldn't talk me into taking the vacation time? I can buy stuff online. I can buy stuff at the motorcycle show. I can buy stuff at the races. I only get the opportunity to get sand riding tips from the likes of Kurt Grife, a riding companion of Clement Salvatori (you may be familiar with his writing...) at small gatherings such as this list provides.> I think the addition of vendors would greatly enhance the > attendance of this rally.
Actually, I believe that is not true. I believe there were 150 or so. Anyone get a head count?> Is it true that only 100 riders showed up last > year?
You, sir, are pathetic. The rally, is small, cozy, friendly, and some place that I am looking forward to being. Sir, I feel that your posts are attempting to rile us up for no good reason -- except, perhaps, that you had to trim your balls off... Can you even get BarkBusters on that R1150GS? ---o&>o--- Sarah Barwig sarah@...> That's pathetic.

Hey BD, the owner of Arrowhead Motorsports is a swell guy named Fred. I bet you could talk him into showing you where the sweet spots are for dual sporting in Moab. You will probably have to wait up for him every now and then, poor guy only has a Honda. But he's a swell guy anyway. But I bet he knows where you can really exhibit your superior riding skills. BTY, if anybody video tapes this years activities, you gotta get this on film. heee heee heee!! I'm gonna be off list for a few days, I'm doing a tri state run on my awwwsome KLR. No trailer. No truck. Just KLR. I'm gonna kinda miss this list while I'm gone. I gotta go clear the woods of them ticket writing sierra club sissys. And BD, if you ever trailer your bike out to Georgia, look me up, I know some good trails. You're right. At least we have lots of large riders. or form hold a candle to the BMW. From what I have read, you spend a great deal of money trying to make your KLR's into BMW wannabes; why not just buy a BMW to start? Just my opinion. Stupid question. Sorry, no offence meant... I don't want my KLR to be a beemer. Why would I want to limit it's ability to such a degree? The GS1150 is an awesome street bike, but that's all. Despite the fact that it has a beak, it isn't a dualsport bike... unless of course your definitiuon of a dualsport is one you can fit in the back of a trailer. As for the F650 - which was the other option available at the time I bought my '99 KLR650 - Besides being too small for me, it was way too overpriced for what you were getting, it lacked in ground clearance, was 50lbs heavier than the KLR, didn't have nearly the same range, and had little aftermarket support in comparison. The KLR650 was the obvious and smart choice. Cheers, Arne> Finally, again, the KLR650 is a fine machine, but it can in no way shape
You are? Amazing...> I have to admit that I am a little shocked at how hostile this list is.
That's right. 100 KLR's. The BMW's didn't count. Arne> Is it true that only 100 riders showed up last > year? That's pathetic.
