It always helps to know where you live

I am assuming that by "original", you mean the three-spoke version and not an
old "Broolands" replacement.

I used the following and after two years use I'm very pleased with the "as
new" result. Service includes rechroming the central disc and three round
headed set-screews.

Steering wheel restoration

I restored a couple of original wheels (3 spoke all black) and they came out better than new. I mig welded around the spokes and around the inside then had them powdered coated. I can send pictures if interested.

Steering wheel restoration

Hello,

I recently manage to obtain an original brooklands steering wheel for my TC, still in its original box.
The wheel has obviously deteriorated with age and although it could still be (just) used as bought the material is so cracked in places that it might be advisable to restore.
Finding myself at this point I am unsure as to how to proceed and would like to hear any recommendations and or experiences regarding refurbishment (or not) of the steering wheel.
I am clear on one issue though: I do not want to end up with a brand new/replacement/over restored wheel as I already have a nice reproduction in my TC. If this can be sympathetically restored then OK

A few weeks ago I sent him a few TD, one Brookland and one MG D Type wheels. So he is still doing wheels. He has done excellent work for me in the past.sculptart@hotmail.com

Ben did an excellent job for me on a TD steering wheel. He also restores heaters for T-Types and his work is excellent there, too.
I have no financial interest, but am a very satisfied customer for both of these.
