Friends,
I'm just now beginning to recover frowm an exhausting, but exciting
weekend at the Gathering of the (MG) Faithful at Mt. Dora, Florida. Thanks
to the organizers, and special thanks to the members of the MMM Registry, who
brought over a dozen RARE pre-war MGs to make the event extra memorable.
Included were a K-3 Magnette, two L-types, one of the Cream Crackers factory
team trials cars, one of the factory team cars which took the team prize at
LeMans, a PA Airline coupe, and the Miles Collier PB special, to mention just
a few. What a thrill, and what a feast for the eyes!!!
Also chatted with TA Terry of the list--A real pleasure to meet Terry,
who has contributed so much to the treasure-trove of information I've gained
from the list!!!
Had the opportunity at the GOF to do some "missionary" / recruiting work
on the following TC owners, all of whom promised to visit the TABC web-site
with an eye toward joining us: Tony Rinaldi, Len Thomas, Vic Seymour, Neil
Nelson, Art Floyd. (Please be on the lookout for them, and give them a warm
welcome!!)
I also met and had a long, interesting conversation with Bruce Collins,
who left the TABC list last Fall during one of ther more heated exchanges on
"originality" vs. modification. Bruce told me that he would re-join the list
if just ONE more member (besides me) asked him to do so. How about it,
folks?? Please send Bruce a "come-on-back" / "welcome-back" e-mail at
> , (And please cc me with your msg)
(Judging from our lengthy talk, and looking over his beautiful TC, our list
will be greatly enriched by Bruce's re-joining us!!)
Regards to all,
Carl Fritz

Re: [mg-tabc] GOF South, and possible new/rejoining TABC members
Hello Carl,
For what it may be worth, I will put MY 2 cents in too. I believe that
I joined, or was recruited to, "the list" sometime after Bruce Collins
departed from same and the only contact I have had with Collins was the
result of an Ebay sale of mine for a can of oil, which he won. Mr.
Collins, ever so foolishly, posted green cash through the US mails, (or,
at least he CLAIMED to have) but, in any event, I did not receive any
cash, nor any other form of payment from Collins. There ensued, flowing
into my computer's email file, absolutely the most vile, the most
boorish, the most uncompromisingly obnoxious and threatening series of
missives one could possibly imagine in which I was accused, in the most
vulgar terms, of stealing his piddling little few dollars. This series
of events culminated in his posting a negative feedback to me, (my only
one out of over 700 feedbacks).
Certainly, anyone should be allowed to join and be heard in a forum such
as this and the fact that there is difference of opinion only adds
richness and depth to the mix, however, if Collins should choose to
return, he will get no welcome from me.
