TA Terry sez: "go to any Costco or Autozone and buy yourself a red top Optima battery...." It had occurred to digitaldon to suggest this to the list, but wasn't sure it would fly, especially past the O.P. These are spiral wound absorbed glass mat (AGM), and are the cutting edge storage battery technology, and just beat anything out there, including gel cell, for any automotive, marine, golf cart, U name it, application. Red tops are starting, and yellow tops combined starting/deep cycle. digitaldon is running a red top in a Miata, and a yellow top in a Honda Civic. These will shortly inhabit 7993 and a couple or three wood boats. Don TC 7993 Grand Island NY USA

I have had a red top in my TC for 7 years. Starts every time and keeps the 50 watt halogens lit at night. Ken Porter TC 4147 Manchester NH Donald Wilkinson wrote:
