Hi Robin, Not an easy one, I've measured the thread on one starter bolt to be 5/16 ins. by 24 TPI which is a UNF thread form. However, trying out the thread on a spare copper terminal block, I found the thread form seemed to be 8mm X 1.25mm pitch. It was usual to use a Brass thread form (26 TPI) for copper based alloys which is similar to the fine metric pitch found on the engine block (8mm X 1mm pitch), so yet another thread to try out.
