Hints for leaking distributor cap
Posted: Sat Mar 19, 2005 6:03 pm
I have been around cars for a very long time . . and have seen the magical
lights provided by the hairline cracks which develop in distributor caps and
also in the coil cover/cap.
While not recommended for the long term. . .
I have successfully covered/filled the crack with nail polish until the
correct part could be obtained.
That cure goes next to a stocking or pantyhose for quick fan belt
replacement.
BTW. . some of the cracked plastic lenses on tail lamps can be 'glued' with
clear nail polish to keep weather out.
