MG-TA hand brake return-spring

There is a bottom projection with a hole on the TA handbrake casting that's obviously for a spring end to fit into; BUT, I don't know where the other end would go; I have a couple of long coil springs with no home and I bet one of them belongs there (somewhere)! Help! Jan/Fairfield, Ohio

Hi Jan,

 

To my knowledge it was not used.  The handbrake return spring is to the driver side of the handbrake.  See my tech tip photos, 3 page.
