Many thanks to all who responded to my gearbox to engine separation problem. A local PA owner had the solution, fill the clutch housing/sump/crancase with diesel fuel an leave for a few days, worked wonders. I now have a driven plate needing new corks, and a driven plate retaining circlip in three peices. Any recommendations for sourcing will be welcomed....Bob.

Bob, the retaining circlip will be a problem. If you find a source, let me
know as a friend needs one too. I understand that the corks are the same
size as used in wine bottles! You'd just need some bottling tools to fit
them. Peter Ratcliffe of SVW Services can supply re-corked dirven
disc......0 1964 671046

Regarding this Cork disc relining, years ago we had a Fellow in Schnecksville Penn. who I am sure is no longer with us who re-corked clutch discs, he was a Hudson Man as Hudson used wet clutches into the 1950s. Perhaps their was an heir apparent to this fellow I believe his name was Paul Lock, but he was about 80 20 years ago.
Also as a footnote when I got into the business in 1973 there was an old time mechanic locally who had apprenticed art the MG works, his first assignment was to trim a bunch of cork clutches for TAs as they were made to thick.

Bob,
One solution for circlips is to waterjet them from the proper thickness and
grade of spring steel. Tolerances are +/- .002" (.05mm). One time
programming costs around here (Detroit MI ) are about $50 which can be zero
if the program layout is supplied.
Measurements can be taken from your broken pieces to create the program
layout. Costs are about .30 per lineal inch (25.4mm) Just an idea.
