Hi All Regarding Rays query on his dynamo the one fitted to my TB is a Lucas Special Equipment Model C45 NV49 Type DA31 Its been on the car since I bought it in about 1970 Hope this dose not confuse the issue too much! Regards Ron Benson

According to my Lucas 400 D. Master catalogue 1939 to 1954 the 39 MG Midget generator was a # 228331 C45NV-3 which was superseded by a 22452 C45YV-3and a 37065 a RF 95-2 regulator The book does not say if the original one was 3rd Brush but I would assume by the supersession that it was. This book was published in 1954 and is usually accurate but I have found problems with it so draw your own conclusions. Joe

Can not give a # at the moment but the TB dynamo is a 3 brush unit and is slightly smaller than the TA one...will give a # ASAP. These units were also nickle plated and not painted and had a different pulley than the TA. John

Still have the dynamo that came with my TB from the factory and it also says " special equipment " on it on an oval brass plate on the dynamo body. Will try to confirm the #s ASAP. These also have a date code like many TB parts. Mine has 5 (May), and 9 (39), and I have a spare one that is the same...the pulleys are the pot metal type. John
