Sad to say Dick other than knowing him from "F Troop" and being the usual "Heavy" in 40s and 50s B movies I am not privy to his off screen persona. Now Buddy Rich the drummer and TC owner (have record album with him and Mel Torme sitting in their respective TCs) I had heard you had to stand in line to punch him.

Mel's car is now owned by Dale & Joan Sheets, new members of the TC Motoring Guild. The car was in Mel's will. Dale and Joan were Mel's managers. Don't know what happened to Buddy's.
Another little tidbit: At a gathering of the same Guild and the Abingdon RoughRiders in Yosemite, a woman came up to our little group kicking tires and said, "My mom used to have one of those". We of course were skeptical, but on further inquiry, determined it was a TC and the locale was LA. I said, "What's your mom's name, the TC world is small and we may know her. She replied, "Yvonne DeCarlo"!
There was a photo of Yvonne in Road & Track many years ago with her TC. She was a super enthusiast and had a special badge bar to accomodate all her badges.. Anyone know the issue? I know I have it but then , my collection starts with 1948 issues.
