For the same reason we get speeding tickets for going ten miles over the "limit" on an empty road - easy target. Sally Carroll wrote:

Nope......It's because Gates was perceived as a threat to the American way of life, and Bin Laden wasn't. Now that Bin Laden IS perceived as a threat, let's see how much the gov't spends chasing him down now!! Methinks the amount spent on Gates will pale in comparison. Bob
