removing xpag pulley to remove timing chain cover

I need to replace the front crankshaft seals and would like to avoid
having to remove the oil pan. From doing it the last time, the pulley
is very hard to pull, and I had to knock it loose from inside the
engine with the pan off. Is there a way to get it loose without
breaking it or the timing chain cover?

Gene It must be out of the car, but you can use a gear puller, if you are concerned that you might damage the pulley,. put a bearing puller behind the pulley, there should be room. If you do not have one you might be able to rent one from your local auto parts store. Dean Illinois
