Another TC for sale

Post by FDShade@aol.com » Thu May 10, 2001 2:33 pm

I emailed the seller of the 35,000 mile TC that had been for sale on eBay, and asked him if he was a dealer of a collector. (He owns 7 other TC's) He responded: F

Hi Jim, I am a collector, not a dealer. (I'm a retired neurologist who is a sucker for an original, low-mileage old British car. I love the anticipation involved in finding, and then buying, them. After I have them for awhile, I usually get tired of them and sell them. It's exciting, and it keeps me out of my wife's hair!) Believe it or not, I've got another '48 black with green interior TC that has a very similar story to the one I just sold. It also has the original paint, interior, top, and side curtains, all in similar condition to the one on eBay, and also has all the tools except the tire pump. It is extremely original, and it looks as good as the one I had on eBay, and has only gone a documented 12,000 miles since '56 when the guy I bought it from first bought it used from a dealer in Boston. The only difference is that it had some minor "updates" to it in '56 when he bought it, like added EXU turn signals (no new holes were drilled to mount these), aluminum rocker and tappet covers, and 7" sealed beam headlamps, which were mounted in the original TC buckets with the original headlamp rings by using those "step-down" things. It also has the same '50s style bumpers that the one I put on eBay had. I'll sell it for $20,000 now, or see what happens when I put it on eBay in the next few weeks. Regards, Bob I have, of course invited him to join us Jim Shade West Covina CA
