Re: [mg-tabc] Wing Mounting Holes hi Tom - I also replied to Jim off-list, as below. there is a whole chapter I could write on this subject, but consult the Bible ("TCs Forever, of course!) first. hi Jim - first bit of advice is to use only stainless steel! bolt the wing to the running board first (3 short 1/4" BSF): these MUST make one continuous curve, and if not you have to adjust the angle of either the bit on the end of the wing, or the running board. then bolt the r/b to the body, the long 1/4" BSF bolt go right through the wood AND the irons, which will have 3 holes (unless you made new ones) BUT new r/bs will not have the brackets in the correct place (NB there is NO bolt through the end of the r/b to the rear wing) the end of the front wing has one woodscrew into the timber, and the rear wings as many as you like. best to use round head w/screws with a washer under. please note I have all required screws in stock!!! cheers Roger TC0978 TC2365

Hi Roger: I am having a SOB of a time dismantling my TC( it has not been apart before) so stainless steel seems like a good idea. But where do you get BSF nuts and bolts in stainless steel? I have lots of BSF nuts and bolts of the normal sort and want to use BSF/Whitworth so as only have to carry one set of wrenches. When I took my YT apart 30 years ago I don't recall having the problems with rusted and frozen nuts that I have now. Anyway when I put it back together I used a bit of grease of some kind on all the bolts and three years ago when I stripped and rebuilt it it came apart easily. Used a modern copper coloured non rust compound when putting it back together. SS sounds better but it seems that there are alternatives. Terry TC 8202 Roger Furneaux wrote:
