David, I find it interesting the issue you bring up about the ownership of TC 7812. I have a fairly complete provenance for TC 7812 - at least since it was shipped to the USA in 1964. I even have a copy of the original registration from Cheshire County Council dated 18/2/1949. Nowhere in my research did the name of Bill Harkin show up as an owner of TC 7812. Bill Harkin does show up in the mg-tabc websites owner list with an address in Fallbrook, CA but without any car number. I'm sure that this is a clerical error that sometimes happens with such an extensive undertaking. There were also question marks attached to the entries so the author certainly had questions about the entries. On the other hand, maybe Bill Harkin truly wants to own TC 7812 and I would be glad to talk to him about the purchase (only kidding). Anyway, I can assure everyone that TC 7812 is owner by me and is currently sitting in my garage waiting for the rain to go away so it can be driven. This provenance list is a huge endeavor and will be extremely helpful. Thanks for putting it together and putting it on the web. Mark Stolzenburg St. Louis, Missouri TC7812 (The Real & Current Owner)

It must have taken a long time to get this all together. Not to cut down the accomplishment by any means, I must note in the time it probably took to assemble the list, TCs have switched hands, new owners have shown up or numbers get transposed. I will pass on info to Jerry that I notice needs adjusting and I hope others do the same. Case in point with our newest TABC members Jim just announced: Jim shows Bunker Hill's TC as TC 7851, however Bunker recently joined our TC Motoring Guild and I just double checked the membership form Bunker filled out and he listed it as TC 7581. Not sure who transposed but 7581 is a new number for Jerry's list or 7851 is shown to be in Australia. Bob Lines shows a different engine number and location. I see names on the list of people who have died many years ago and the kids have the car now and I note other TCs sold but past owners listed. TC7812 shows both Bill Harkins as owner as well as Mark Stolzenburg. But there are two different engine numbers. Bill got out of TCs some time back so my guess is Mark now owns it or one of the two TC numbers is wrong. So please go to the link below and send Jerry a note with updates. I am sure he would appreciate any valid corrections. Send to: jdaustinmg@dslextre me.com since Jerry is not on the TABC list and would not get group emails. The list may include entries from the MGTC Owners Register book but many entries are not from there. I am on Austin's list with TC 5108 but was not in the book for instance. I am sure it was taken from several different sources. The list is a good start and with corrections can be bought closer to current. Jim Shade tells me he is adding to Jerry's list any TABC cars that were not listed and will notify Jerry. But I do urge everyone to make note of any other errors and refer them to Jerry direct. Again, he is not on our TABC group and will not get replies posted here so contact him direct at: jdaustinmg@dslextreme.com David Edgar, TC 5108 El Cajon, California

The URL above doesn't work. The file is actually "tc provenance records" in the files section, and the URL is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mg-tabc/files/tc%20provenance%20records The years in the list are out of whack. My TC 6710 is listed as a 1949, but its build date was 01 Oct 1948. The first 1949 build was TC7503 on 05 Jan 1949. -- Chip Old Cub Hill, Maryland, US feold3@bcpl.net 1948 M.G. TC TC6710

Chip, do you know when that list was compiled, even the year. Arnold, TC0580 in BC Canada 2009/7/5 Chip Old feold3@bcpl.net>

This listing is way out of date. It shows me as having TC 0857 and TC 7387. I have sold them both years ago and do not currently own any MGs. The current owners are listed on the Mg-tabc website. Charles Hill

Jim, I clicked on the link and got through fine - the first time. Went back later and got the same error you did. Strange. But you can get to it two ways if you do get the error message. From the error page just go to the Files link in the column to the left. The choose the file that is labeled tc provenance records (12th file from the top) Or you could use the original link and tag on %20records to the end. Somehow that got stripped off. I will try to create that link here but if the link is too long or gets wrapped, it may not work. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mg-tabc/files/tc%20provenance%20records David Edgar, TC 5108 El Cajon, California

I think someone else mentioned that it was originally compiled in the early 1960s from the membership roster of the TC Motoring Guild. If so it has had more recent additions. My TC6710 is listed, but didn't enter the US until 1969 and was never a TCMG member. -- Chip Old Via iPhone 3.0 Mail
