now what`s happened
Jim Them ol` boys is right. Last time I busted a half-shaft was 1978 just outside Leominster, in 2nd on a bumpy bridge and right hander. Had my two sons in the car and they still remind of the day I left a slick of 140 in the lay- by as I not only replaced the 1/2 shaft , but had to replace the diff. as the carrier had broken. The 1/2 shaft broke at the diff. end, so I had to fish that bit out and is how I found the diff. had lost a tooth off the pinion and bust its carrier. In those days I carried a lot of bits, but now it is a bit more reliable! My boys have their own cars, one even owning a TA. One day he will bust a half shaft. What you need are a pair of Roger Furneaux`s tapered half shafts. and not to bait 147 Ford coupes! Must go, I`m watching Tombstone on the telly! Paddy.
