mysterious LUCAS headlight lens !

Dear Lucas friends, Some month ago I have ordered a LUCAS 507586 headlight lens from an MG spare parts dealer in Germany. I have described to him on phone in detail the design of the lens and he promised me to have one of it in stock. I was very happy about this information After receiving the lens I was asthonished because the lens had the same design like LUCAS 507586, but not the same size ! The size in diameter is approx. 1.4mm larger than the size of the original LUCAS 507586. Instead of LUCAS 507586 I found the lettering LUCAS 551070 engraved on the backside of the lens ! The design is similar to the LUCAS 507586 with small vertical LUCAS but only the size is different. Original lens you can see in TC s FOREVER on page 57. Does somebody of the list know the original application of that headlight lens LUCAS 551070 ? Which cars have been equipped with LUCAS 551070 headlight lenses ? If sombody is interested and looking for such a lens than I m ready to sell it or exchange it to LUCAS 507586 or other interesting TC parts. For example I m looking for a pair of LUCAS 1130 side lamps. Cheers Wolfgang / TomCharly4170

Wolfgang from my experience when it comes to Lucas lenses you are best to buy a pair or at least have yours in hand, the variations in them as you see are incredible I used to try to sell them and you never had matched patterns or colors for that matter.. Joe Curto
