Hi, found this ad, think someone recently was looking for a wheel. muffler mod

Hello Folks, I used to own a 07 KLR650 and did the tweety muffler mod. I never rejetted and the bike ran great. Then it got stolen.. I purchased a 06 Yamaha xt225 and want to do the same mod. Its called the M mod https://www.procycle.us/info/questions/xt225/engine.html My question is- Do I really need to rejet the bike or it can run on stock? Any ideas? Jetting is a personal preference and is a lot like fitting your shoes to your feet.  If I were to say that yes all XT225s need rejetting or no they all don t need rejetting, that information would be useless to you.  All motorcycles are going to be slightly different and what works on one XT225 may or may not work on yours.  So the correct answer is that you need to do your exhaust modifications and then see how your bike reacts.  Just remember that most all bikes come from the factory jetted very lean to pass emissions tests.  Anytime you use a less restrictive air filter and/or a freer flowing exhaust you are going to make your bike run leaner.  Everyone has different requirements for jetting.  Some want their jetting as lean as possible for the best MPGs and deal with drivability issues and higher temps, where others want theirs considerably richer for better performance and the heck with MPGs.  There is a whole lot of gray area in between.  It s not all black n white.   If you want to give us some more information about what you expect out of your bike and what jetting you are using and what results you see, then we might be more able to give you more precise recommendations.  An Air-Fuel ratio monitor would be very helpful to you if you don t know what mixture you are running now.  Look up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air%E2%80%93fuel_ratio   Fred http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com   [b]From:[/b] DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [b]Sent:[/b] Thursday, July 30, 2015 2:51 PM [b]To:[/b] DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [b]Subject:[/b] [DSN_KLR650] Muffler Mod

Hi Fred, Thanks for that. I am just looking to have the bike be a little bit louder. I have a stock 125 jet now.I will do the mod and check on the spark plug to see how its running. Best,David
