Talked to AAA today, (again) They Said they do NOT cover, Custom, or Modified Motorcycles.
I have been trying for about a yr. to get something in Writing, What do they call "Custom" or "Modified".
AGAIN I talk to someone at the "main" office, and He read some things to me, and checked with The Underwriters.
Definitions, Any bike not built by a standard MC company, or one built special for me etc.
Modifications:  Any Mod that Enhances "performance".

When I said, I installed a Better Rear Shock, He replied That, Would Void my Insurance, because it Modifies & Enhances the Performance.
When I explained, I have been looking into a Trailer OR a SIDE-CAR, He said,................YES THEY ARE COVERED. (because they do not "Enhance the Performance".
AHHHH??? Then I Better stick with, Stock Air filter, and spark plugs, and tires, Chain, BRAKES, and Seat, etc etc etc, As they ENHANCE PERFORMANCE.

Insurance=Extortion as rarely will you ever be made whole. And no matter what they will in many cases find a way to deny a claim or cut the payout. Especially on Motorcycles. That said, so far Progressive has offered me the cheapest coverage (yeah yeah politics) but I have never needed to file a claim. AAA is great for Piss Poor drivers that Like spending lots of money and getting big payouts, like a Casino... I know a couple of there retired customers that constantly make money off them but they PAY Enormous premiums for the lottery ticket prizes. Michael

When Comparing rates etx., AAA Was a little higher on the bike, But  a Fraction of others on the Medical, so was/is alot cheaper. In Michigan, A Motorcycle is NOT a Motor vehicle, So Bike Insurance does not cover the rider at all. NOT a Motor vehicle? If it Walks like a Duck, Quack likes a Duck, Has Down Feathers like a duck, Has a Bill & Webbed feet like a duck, MOST HAVE A DUCK LICENCE etc etc. Has a Motor, Yup, designed to operate on Public Roads and freeways, Yup, MUST have a Vehicle Licence plate, MUST have Insurance, supplied by Vehicle Insurance provider, Yup, MUST OBEY ALL VEHICLE LAWS, OR PAY VEHICLE FINES & GET VEHICLE POINTS ON YOUR VEHICLE DRIVERS LICENCE YUP,  ..............Is A Motor-Vehicle? NOPE! On Wednesday, December 24, 2014 1:51 PM, "libertyeagle@... [DSN_KLR650]" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> wrote:

Someone asked about the air box interchangeability between Gen1 & Gen2 in a Facebook. I hadn't considered that the question related to the snorkel only. I looked at some of the snorkels I've pulled and think the Gen1 & Gen2 are the same. Not 100%.

As for those inserts...skeptical would be an understatement, IMO.

I was on the receiving end of a AAA pay out on being rear ended at a red light. I don't have anything good to say about them. Sent from my Sprint phone.
