My girlfriend gave me a set of JIS screwdrivers for my birthday this year. After a couple of decades of cursing "Phillips" head screws, I can finally have a bit of relief! -eddie =) |

Add a tin of valve grinding compound to your screw driver drawer and you're set.

Just convert it to a manual petcock. Not only will it fix this issue, but it will fix any potential issues with the stock vacuum petcock in the future. They're a known failure point on the KLR. Ryan Newman Phoenix, AZ bryantburke@... [DSN_KLR650] wrote:

Remind me: what's the valve grinding compound for?

The grit offers the bit of a screwdriver "traction" in the screw head. In the absence of real grinding compound, a little spit on the screwdriver tip + a light dab in the dirt will be close enough. =) -eddie
