I don't have any data to back this up, but I suspect you won't see much improvement from it, since the KLR doesn't benefit much from typical performance enhancers. You'll also lose some of the bike's ability to ford water crossings as well. -Jeff Khoury

But on some engines, when a support is removed from the carb it can result in vibrations/harmonics that lead to fuel frothing in the float bowl. That can lead to air/fuel mixture issues which can be irregular and hard to sort out.
