I take really good care of my bikes, and even wash the MX bike after
almost every ride. I don't usually mind a bit of dust, but don't like
mud, grease, or oil. I have a friend who hasn't washed his 1999 KLR in
the 3-4 years he has owned it, and it makes me cringe looking at it. The
chain has slathered everything with oil. The once-upon-a-time leaks of
coolant and oil have never been cleaned up. He'll replace a part, and
not bother to clean around it. Everything on/around the engine has a
coating of black. I just can't do that personally. When I work on my
bikes I want them to be grime free.
